Algeria DRI-Pellet Facilities

Pellet Facility

The Pellet facility project has started in 2016 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2017 or in the first half of 2018 the latest. The facility will produce raw material for the DRI process by using a natural resource, iron ore. The iron ore will be transfer from Arzew Port directly to the pellet facility by using approximately 10 km long special conveyor belt. The pellet facility will have 4 million tons annual production capacity. Also, to discharge the iron ore and transfer the material from the port to the complex, Tosyali Algeria signed a joint venture agreement owning 49% against 51% partnership with Arzew Port.

DRI Facility

DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) facility will produce raw material for steel making plant with the product which processed from iron ore in the pellet facility. The facility will have 2.5 million tons annual production capacity, and there will be time and cost savings upon the completion of this new system. The plant will differentiate itself from the other DRI facilities by having a dual discharge system that allows the plant to process the product as hot and cold. The DRI facility is scheduled to be completed by October 2017.
